Programme 1:
The North Frisians in Germany . This young, farmers family has two small children, who both are learning how to speak Frisians and German. The grandfather in the family tells us about the former life as Frisian in Germany
Programme 2:
The West Frisians in the Netherlands are very active within the fight bewaring the minority. In this programme we meet a young Frisian family whose two year old son only learns how to speak the Frisian language and who sees themselves not as Dutchmen but as Frisians.
Programme 3:
The Roma - Sinti is the biggest minority group in Europe . Several millions live in the lowest parts of the societies in different countries. In Germany the Sinti have fought themselves into a better position than rest of the Gypsies in Europe . The Sinti we are visiting in Kiel have one big issue very important to them: the family
Programme 4:
The Germans in Denmark have lived in Denmark for centuries still they feel like Germans and get a lot of money from both the German and the Danish state to beware their lives as part of a minority. The family in this programme lives as farmers. The father is active within politics, the daughter joins a German school in Denmark , and the mother tells about cultural issues
Programme 5:
On the German island Sylt a big part of the population is Danish. At the small hotel driving as a family business we meet father and son telling about the past and present being part of the Danish minority in Germany
Programme 6:
The European Union has a lot of laws and good intentions helping the minorities in Europe . But do they do enough? We visit the European Council telling us about the problems forcing the European politicians to acknowledge the minorities and the European Bureau for Lesser used Languages says it is not enough with money - the intentions also have to be present
