THE FUTURE
Short Description
Our common future may depend on our awareness of tradition. Our
spiritual memory is never global, it originates from every individual,
his/her family, tribe, ethnic community, language, and his/her land
or environment. TV Slovenia intends to produce a series of documentary
portraits featuring talented Slovene children who, by their creativity,
form a bridge between the past and the future.
The TEEN BAND FROM BELTINCI is a pilot programme featuring a talented
group of youngsters who are keen on playing traditional tunes that
have been played in the region of Prekmurje for centuries.
The TEEN BAND FROM BELTINCI consists of eight musicians, all of
them in their early teens (still attending elementary schools).
They play typical tunes and folk songs from Prekmurje.
Format
A weekly TV series, 25 min
Age group – 10-18
Latest development
This first proposal is linked to the region of Prekmurje in the
far East of Slovenia. If the series gets more interest, other regions
may also be presented, including young Slovenes who live in Italy,
Austria and Hungary.
