PAST Coproductions: GARDENS IN
PERIL
Short Description
”Gardens without borders” is a series presented by professional
gardener Alan Mason, appealing to both gardeners and non-gardeners.
Alan Mason and his team set out to rescue endangered gardens throughout
Europe. The range stretches from the war torn botanic garden at
Sarajevo, to the once fabulous royal gardens of the Tsars in St.
Petersburg ; a sub-tropical jungle of a garden on the west coast
of Portugal, the derelict walled garden of a fairy-tale French chateau
and a lost European garden in England.
This co-production aims to find out how gardening styles and methods
are becoming cosmopolitan as gardeners adopt ideas and plants from
other countries and combine them with their own methods and traditions.
